Croatia Airlines

The state-owned Croatia Airlines flights is the country's national airline. There are domestic and international routes offered by the company, primarily to European destinations, whose headquarters are located in Buzin near Zagreb. With Zagreb International Airport as its main hub, the company's focus cities are Dubrovnik, Split, and Zadar. Star Alliance has been the airline's alliance partner since November 2004.

History

Its name was changed to Zagal (formerly Zagreb Airlines) on 20 August 1989. Zagal was renamed Croatia Airlines on 23 July 1990 after the first democratic elections were held in Croatia. As of 2004, the company is a member of the Star Alliance. Codesharing arrangements are in place with 14 different airlines. These include United Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Air France, LOT Polish Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, Tap Portugal,Austrian Airlines, Turkish Airlines, KLM, Air Canada, Alitalia, Lufthansa, and Scandinavian Airlines.

Destinations

As one of Croatia Airlines' 27 destinations, Dubrovnik and Split are two of the most popular destinations it flies to from amongst the 27 it services. These two cities are both the focus cities of the airline. As well as {list_destinations}, there are other destinations that can be reached by air. 

The fleet

There are 13 Airbus, Bombardier and Fokker aeroplanes in its fleet, making it one of the largest in the world.

Check in

Check-in for Croatia Airlines flights is available online for passengers with an e-ticket. This can be done as early as 36 hours before the flight leaves and as late as one hour before the flight departs. Passengers are also able to select seats for their flights through the company's online check-in service, thus saving valuable time on the day of departure. In addition to checking in at the terminal desk, passengers can also check in online. 45 minutes before a flight takes off, airport check-in counters close.

Hand and Hold Luggage

The amount of hand baggage allowed by Croatia Airlines depends on the type of ticket a passenger holds. Economy travellers are allowed one piece of hand luggage. There must be no more than 9 kg in weight. The maximum weight for each piece of hand luggage allowed by Business class passengers is 8 kilograms. The maximum amount of checked baggage passengers may take on a Croatia Airlines flight is one item. There is a weight limit of 23 kg for this. There is a limit of two checked bags per passenger in business class. As many as 32 kg can be lifted by each piece.

Classes of service and seats

Flight services offered by Croatia Airlines fall into three categories. 

There are three fares for economy class on Croatia Airlines: Croatia Airlines basic, Croatia Airlines main cabin, and Croatia Airlines comfort plus. 

A number of superior facilities could be found in Croatia Airlines Premium cabins, including extra legroom. A wide seat and comfortable footrests are available in Croatia Airlines' premium class. 

Extra legroom and a wide recline were among the features in Croatia Airlines' business class. A pillow, blanket, and headphones will be included in the amenity kits. 

Services on Board

All domestic and international business class flights feature delicious warm or cold snacks. In addition to beer, wine, juices, tea and coffee, passengers have a wide selection of beverages to choose from. In economy class of Croatia airlines flight, they offer a light snack for lunch and breakfast during all international flights. It was also possible for passengers to order beverages with their meals.
