Aegean Airlines Flights

Aegean Airlines

Since 2001, customers have voted Aegean Airlines as the Best European Regional Airline, which is in line with the excellent standards of customer service that it provides on a wide range of international routes. In addition to the excellent service provided by the cabin crew, Aegean Airlines has a consistent record of consistently high quality.

According to the International Air Transport Association's ratings, Transavia obtained a 3-Star Low-Cost Airline Certification. Airport and onboard experiences are measured to determine the airline's rating. Comfort and cleanliness of the cabin, food and beverages onboard, baggage policies, and other factors are included.

History

Aegean Airlines was founded in 1987, initially operating under the name Aegean Aviation. It was licensed to operate international services on 28 March 1995 after having been awarded an air operators certificate by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA). In January 2005 it adopted the name Aegean Airlines following a decision by shareholders to adopt a new corporate identity.

The airline initially started operations with flights between Athens' Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport and Thessaloniki International Airport under the name Aegean Aviation, but soon expanded its network through the addition of charter flights.

In 2010, Aegean Airlines carried 7 million passengers, making it the second largest Greek airline in terms of passenger numbers and fifth largest in terms of fleet size. Aegean Airlines is currently Europe's fastest-growing airline; it carried 7.8 million passengers during 2013, an increase of 25% over 2012 traffic figures. In October 2011, Aegean Airlines became the first airline to offer passengers the option to use Twitter rather than telephone or e-mail when making customer service inquiries.

The airline also has codeshares and/or capacity-on-demand agreements with over 30 airlines such as Aeroflot Russian Airlines, Aer Lingus , China Eastern Airlines, Finnair , Lufthansa , Qatar Airways , SAS Scandinavian Airlines and TAP Portugal.

Fleet

There are 38 Airbus A320 aircraft in AEGEAN's fleet, as well as 14 Airbus A321, 1 Airbus A319, two Dash 8-100 aircraft, eight Dash 8-Q400 aircraft and two ATR 42-600 aircraft.

Check-in

Aegean Airlines offers three check-in options:

Online Check-In allows you to check-in 24 hours before your flight departs at home or any time after that at an airport kiosk (available at selected airports only). If this option is not available for your flight, you can use Mobile Check-In instead.

You can check-in at the desk at the airport.

Airport Kiosk Check-In allows you to check in at an airport kiosk up to 2 hours before departure (depending on airport policy). You must have a boarding pass already printed by the kiosk when arriving at the gate or be prepared to print one from your personal device if needed.

Hand and Hold Luggage Allowances

You may carry one carry-on bag up to 13kg and 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm into the overhead compartment, and you may also bring one personal item (a handbag or thin laptop case) under the seat in front of you that must fit under the seat in front of you. As a result of multiple luggages per person, the security check takes longer and is therefore inefficient. Depending on the number of bags in your cabin luggage, you may not be able to board even if your baggage weighs less than 7kg
