We know Prague as the city of beer, bridges, and a beautiful castle on top of the hill. With a very long history and well-preserved architecture, Prague is the capital city of the Czech Republic and one of the most popular destinations in Central Europe. The peak season is May to September, as these are the warmest and sunniest months of the year. The old town gets pretty crowded in peak season and it is best to book your tickets for museums and other attractions in advance. If you want to walk a lot and just explore the place on foot, arrange your holidays in early autumn. September is still warm during the day and less packed. If you don’t mind the cold, the winter holidays might be just the right time for you to visit Prague. We are sure you will love the holiday vibe at the most gorgeous Christmas market in Europe.
The climate in the Czech Republic is continental, with mild summers and cold winters. You will rarely catch some sultry days in summer. Temperatures are usually around 24-28C. It often is cloudy and even rainy. However, the temperature is most comfortable in summer for long days outdoors and walking. Autumn is nice and warm until mid-October when temperatures go down. In late October and November, it rains more often. The first snowfall in Prague happens already in November. Spring in Prague gets warmer in late April, which makes it a perfect time for a city break.
Where would you start a holiday in Prague? On Charles Bridge, or maybe over some real Czech beer, or perhaps a cruise down the Vltava river is just what you prefer? Whatever you choose, we guarantee the Czech capital city will give you memories for a lifetime. The old town of Prague breathes history, and they preserve it good enough to give an incomparable value to every tourist who visits it. The main square is the home of the best-preserved medieval mechanical clock in the World. It is the pride of Prague and even nowadays it is precise and accurate. While in the main square of the old town, take some time to just have a walk, enjoy the little cozy streets wrapping around the square, and check souvenir shops. The Czech Republic is famous for the crystal they produce and this is exactly the place where you will find a lot of different models and designs. When you are ready to explore further, move towards the Vltava river and Charles bridge. You recognize it instinctively, as this is the most iconic bridge of the country. Surely you saw it in lots of pictures before hitting the Czech ground. Sunsets are stunning on Charles bridge. However, on the other side of the river, there is another piece of art waiting for you: the Prague Castle. Access is free, but there are guided tours available for a fee. From the hilltop, you will discover a fantastic city view, altogether with the river and bridges. As you walk back down from the castle across the Charles bridge, on the right along the river, there is the elegant dancing house of Prague. On its rooftop, you can find a French restaurant with an amazing view of the castle and the Vltava river. Speaking about local food, try pork knuckle (koleno), however, prepare to get a quite large portion, in fact, as most of the local dishes.
