South Beach

South Beach is one of the most famous beaches in the United States. It is also nicknamed as SoBe. It is located at the southern end of Miami Beach. It is very crowded in the summer season and is one of the top beaches in Florida. It is a major entertainment destination with numerous restaurants, hotels, nightclubs and boutiques. This beach is the perfect place to swim and enjoy the shallow waters, escape the heat and soak up the sun. The lifeguards of this beach use very unique and colourful stands which look very attractive to the visitors. Many popular festivals and events are also celebrated at this beach throughout the year. The night life at this beach is as alive as the day. 

Miami Seaquarium

The Miami Seaquarium is one of the oldest oceanariums in the United States and covers an area of 38 acre. It was founded in 1955. It is a perfect place to take your family or kids for an afternoon of education and entertainment. It is home to a wide variety of sea creatures such as killer whales, sharks, fishes, sea turtles, dolphins, stingrays, seals, penguins and many more. Various animal shows are performed by the animals. 

Miami Zoo

The Miami zoo is also known as Miami-Dade Zoological Park and Gardens is the largest zoo in Florida and fifth largest in the United States. It was originally established in 1948 and covers an area of 750 acres. This zoo has five main exhibit sections including Mission Everglades, Africa, Amazon and beyond, Asia and Australia. 

The Mission Everglades have animals like American alligators, American crocodiles, Florida panthers, brown pelicans, North American river otters, bald eagles and roseate spoonbills.

The African loop of this zoo offers animals like pygmy hippos, African bush elephants, eastern black rhinoceroses, mountain bongo, okapis, greater kudu, ostriches and slender horned gazelle.

Amazon and beyond includes the animals like giant otters, jaguars, harpy eagles, fruit bats, giant anteaters, black howler monkeys, Hoffmann’s two- toed sloths, Orinoco crocodiles and poison dart frogs.

The Asia exhibit of zoo includes many animals such as dromedary camels, Malayan tapirs, sloth bears, clouded leopards, siamang, Asian small-clawed otters, Bactrian camels, Asian elephants, Indian rhinoceros and northern white cheeked gibbons.

The Australian exhibit showcases animals from the region of Australia, Oceania and Pacific Islands which includes the Koalas, cockatiels, emus and Matschie’s tree kangaroos.

This zoo has a broad mix of species which no other zoo has in the country. Animals in this zoo are grouped according to their geographic territories. The trees, foliage and even the soil are also closely matched to the native habitat of the animal. This zoo is home to more than 3,000 animals and represents over 500 different species. 1,000 species of trees, palms and other plants are also grown inside this zoo. This zoo is an active leader in many global wildlife and environmental conservation initiatives.
