Girona in Spain

The city of Girona is located in northern Catalonia, Spain, at the confluence of the Ter and Onyar rivers along with the Galligants and Güell rivers. There are two comarcas of Gironès and a vegueria of Girona, each with their own capital, Girona being the capital of both. Known for its beautiful architecture and lively food scene, Girona is one of the most magnificent cities in Spain. According to NOAA, Girona's best weather season runs from April 23rd to November 4th. There is a great deal of variation in the average temperature in Girona. Buses are the most common form of transportation in Girona, as you would expect. Only about ten bus lines are available in the city because it is relatively small.

What to see in Girona

Its 13th-century Jewish Quarter is one of the most popular attractions of the Ciutat Antiga (Old City). There are also charming stone stairways in the Old City, which is built on a hill.

In Girona, there is plenty to do, such as exploring Roman Gerunda, exploring Girona's Jewish Quarter, and wandering the Medieval Walls. Take pictures of the hanging houses, walk over Eiffel's bridge, and gaze at the beauty of Girona Cathedral.

One of the most representative elements of the town is the colourful houses along the Onyar River. Santa Maria de Girona Cathedral, built between the 11th and 18th centuries, dominates the city skyline. Girona Cathedral is easily recognized by fans of Game of Thrones (HBO) based on its appearance in the sixth episode of Season Six, when it represents the "Great Sept of Baelor" in "King's Landing". 

Another must-see place in Girona is the Jewish quarter, known in Catalan as Call Jueu.
