How To Get Around The City

While in the city, it is best to explore on foot. Where you can see all of the city's local shops, meet different people, and visit cafes. You can walk around the Old Quarter, which is more like an old town than that of the capital of a best known province, with delightful cafes serving rich coffee and exquisite religious institutions as the backdrop. The city also offers a diverse range of public transportation options, including metro, buses, taxis, and car rentals. Those very same forms of transportation can be useful when the attractions you want to visit are located outside of the city.

Poetto

There is plenty of parking nearby, and the beach is easy to reach. It's massive and magnificent. Swimming will be fantastic in the clear water. Snacks and beverages are abundant. A wonderful cycle lane runs along the beach. Because of the shallowness of the water, swimming will be the best option. An amazing way of spending the day.

Chiesa di San Sepolcro

This is an ancient church built in the 1500s on grounds that were originally intended to be used as a cemetery. The main altar is unusual in the Baroque style, with its many icons. The last burial occurred in 1812, but some caves have recently been discovered. It's steeped in history. This church is definitely worth seeing. It's also remarkable due to the historical crypt beneath the church.

Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Cagliari

This museum is a great way to spend a few hours and learn about the history of Cagliari and the surrounding area. There is a lot of Sardinian culture, and there is a vocal tour in English. Outside, there's a nice terrace where you can drink and watch the sunset! There is also a Roman collection with some nice pieces, but similar items can be found in other museums throughout Italy.

Quartiere Villanova

Cagliari is an excellent walking city. Quartiere Villanova is one of the charming neighbourhoods. Another area worth seeing is Villanova, which is adjacent to Cagliari's Castello district. The old buildings are adorned with churches and backstreets, beautiful street scenes, flowers, and decorations. The old city walls are only a few steps away, and there are stunning views of the botanic gardens, city park, and port. This is a must-see place when you are in Cagliari.
