Virgin Atlantic is a popular British airline, headquartered in England. The airline operates from its base located in Heathrow and Manchester. History

The airline was formed in 1984 and the first flight operation was supposed to take place between the Falkland Islands and London. Due to a small disagreement, the owner sold all the company’s shares. The first aircraft was flown between Gatwick and Newark International Airport in 1984 with Boeing 747-200. Since then, the company has made several changes in the in-flight management, crew, booking, and other operations to provide a comfortable journey to its passengers.

Check-in

Online check-in begins 24 hours before the flight’s scheduled departure time and ends a few minutes before the flight departs. You can also check in at the airport using self-service kiosk machines. Online check-in is the best option if you want your boarding pass printed from the comfort of your home or office. You will not have to arrive early at the airport.

Hand and Hold Luggage Allowance

You are allowed to bring one carry-on bag to the cabin. Its weight should not exceed 10kgs though. The hand luggage requirements are the same for each cabin and the maximum dimensions of the bags are 23 x 36 x 56 cm. You can also bring a small personal item, such as a laptop case or a briefcase.

Class of Service, Comfort, and Seats

They offer three cabins — economy, premium, and upper class. The seats are designed carefully, each cabin offering sufficient space and enough legroom. Book premium or upper-class service for extra legroom, extra-large leather seats, and a flatbed. The width of the seats ranges between 17 and 22 inches and they can recline up to 8 inches. You could also turn seats into beds in business and premium class. You get a seat pitch of 31” to 38”. Blankets and pillows are provided to passengers in each cabin.

Services Onboard

The entertainment system is pretty exciting. They have hand-picked a wonderful range of movies, TV series, and kid’s content. The in-flight entertainment is called Vera, and it comes with an excellent selection of entertainment content. You could also read vera magazines. They have Wi-Fi available for all passengers, so you can stay connected to the world while travelling. They also cater to your special meal requests. Pets are not allowed in the main cabin unless they are assistance dogs. You have to approach the cargo department to send your pets to your destination.
