Tunisair

The national airline of Tunisia, Tunisair, is owned and operated by the Tunisian government. Its headquarters is near Carthage International Airport in Tunis. The aircraft fly from Tunis airport to different parts of the world.

History

TunisAir was established in 1948 by the government of Tunisia. The airline started operation in 1949 with 4 Dakota DC3s the company acquired from the US Army. The airline started its first non-stop flight in 1956. In the next five years, the first jet-powered aircraft of TunisAir was inaugurated. In 1995, the company put its shares on the Tunis Stock Exchange. The airline became the first to buy Airbus A319 in Africa and the entire Arab World in late 1997.

As of 2017, Tunisia had a total of 30 aircraft in service with 6 pending orders. They have Airbus and Boeing. The airline currently has 16 Airbus A320-200s and 7 Boeing 737-600.

Check-in Procedure

Passengers who are travelling with Tunisair can complete their check-in online. You can visit the airline’s official website to get a selected seat and a boarding pass on your mobile. For people travelling in economy class, the check-in period starts 48 hours and ends 12 hours before departure. Mobile check-in is also available for those who’d like to reserve their desired seat. You don’t have to rush to the airport 3 to 4 hours before the departure once you have completed the check-in procedure online.
