TUIfly

Formerly called Jetairfly, Tui Fly is one of the popular Belgian airlines, offering scheduled and charter services. Its main hub and headquarters are at Brussels Airport.

History

Tui Fly was founded in 2002 as Sunrise. A year later, it was renamed TUI Airlines Belgium. The company had planned to start the airline with two aircraft. In 2005, it was again renamed “Jetairfly”. The company announced a merger with Jet4you in 2012. That was also the year when the airline decided to go completely scheduled, although it operated a few charter airlines previously. In the subsequent year, Tui Fly became the first airline to add Embraer 190 to its fleet. Its name was changed to TUI Fly Belgium in 2016.

Destinations

Tui Fly has its main hub at the Brussels Airport, although it operates from eight other bases. The company operates holiday flights to the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Canary Islands, and across the continents of Africa and the United States. Fleet

Tui Fly mainly has aircraft from the Boeing family in its fleet. Most of its flights are Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737 MAX 8, and Boeing 787-8. In addition, it has Embraer 190.

Check-in

The check-in period for TuiFly flights starts a few hours before the flight departs. Check the status of the online check-in to get your boarding pass printed on your mobile. If you would like to complete the check-in at the airport, make sure you arrive at least 2 hours before the departure time. Self-service kiosks for manual check-in are available at some airports. It is advisable to complete your check-in online to save yourself the time spent at the airport.

Hands and Hold Luggage Allowance

TUI Fly allows one carry-on bag in the cabin per person. It should not weigh more than 10 kgs and the dimensions must not exceed 55 x 40 x 20 cm. You can bring an additional personal item, which can be a laptop bag or a small briefcase. But, the size and weight of your carry-on should be within 10 kgs (luggage and personal item combined).

Class of Service, Seat, and Comfort

The flights offer three classes to its passengers - Economy class, Comfort class, and Premium club. Economy class is further divided into three categories that offer different levels of comfort and varying services on board. For long-haul flights, book comfort class. It offers extra legroom and sufficient seat pitch. The seats have sufficient space and are comfortable enough to house each passenger comfortably.

Services Onboard

Food and drinks are served according to the flight’s menu. Some flights offer limited snacks and meals, while others offer full meals with beverages. You can pre-order your meals a few hours before the flight’s scheduled departure. The airline doesn’t offer in-flight entertainment for short-haul flights. But, if you are travelling long distances. i.e. more than seven hours, you can choose from a selection of series, movies, and kids’ content. The airline allows up to 3 small pets (but they must not exceed the maximum in-flight luggage limit).
