Royal Air Maroc

Royal Air Maroc or RAM is one of the largest Moroccan airlines. The airline is owned and operated by the government. Its headquarters are located at Casablanca-Anfa Airport, and the airline has been part of the Oneworld alliance since 2020. Royal Air Maroc operates both charter airlines for Hajj pilgrims, as well as scheduled international flights to many destinations. 

History

The merger of Air Atlas and Junked Ju 52s resulted in the formation of Royal Air Maroc in 1953. The newly launched airline served all destinations where its predecessors operated, in addition to a few more areas. The company got the name Royal Air Maroc (RAM) in 1957 when a majority shares of the company were owned by the Moroccan Government. In the same year, the airline started Hajj flights.

RAM offers flights across all major continents. The airline operates in Asia, South America, North America, Africa, Asia, and Europe including {list_destinations}.

Fleet

The airline mainly operates aircraft from the Boeing and Embraer family. It has Boeing 737 MAX 8, Boeing 737-800, Embraer 190, etc. it previously owned Douglas, Fokker, and Airbus planes.

Check-in

The company starts online check-in 48 hours before the flight’s scheduled departure. You can now save yourself the time of waiting in the queues by checking in online. Once you get your boarding pass printed on your mobile, you can head directly to the security check at the airport. Note that online check-in closes 2 hours before the flight departs. If you can’t check in online, arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before departure.

Hand and Hold Luggage Allowance

The passengers can bring a single piece of hand luggage to the cabin, as long as its weight doesn’t exceed 10 kgs. In addition, you can bring one personal item, which can be a laptop bag or a kid’s bag, separately. Your bag should meet the airline’s dimension guidelines in order to fit in the overhead compartment storage or the area under your seats.

Class of Service, Seats, and Comfort

Seats in economy class can recline up to 119 degrees and have a 17-inch seat pan with up to 31-inch legroom. They have spacious and comfortable seat arrangements on all planes. 

They have economy and business classes. You can book a business class ticket to ensure more space and extra legroom. It is highly recommended for passengers travelling long distances. They have incorporated leather seats, which offer extra comfort to both economy and business class passengers. The flights have a seat pitch of up to 32 inches.

Services onboard

The airline offers free meals on long-haul flights flying for more than two and a half hours. After the meal, you are served a hot or cold drink. For short-haul flights, a hot snack is served to each passenger. They have an extensive range of magazines and newspapers. You could watch a short movie on the main screen. The airline allows pets in the cabin, but they must not weigh above 5 kgs.
