Nordica Flights

The flag carrier of Estonia, Nordica has its headquarters located in Tallinn and the flights operate from its main hub, which is Tallinn Airport. The airline is known for operating both wet-lease flights and scheduled flights. Nordica has bought a few aircraft and carries hundreds of passengers every day to different destinations in Europe.

History

Nordica was launched in 2015 after the bankruptcy of the former flag carrier of Estonia “Estonian Air”. The operations started in the same year with the first flight taking off for Amsterdam. The airline got its name “Nordica” in 2016 and two years later, it opened another base at Groningen Airport Eelde. However, they shut down their base in December 2018. This flag carrier of Estonia serves various destinations and operates Airbus and Bombardier.

Check-in

You can complete the check-in online as early as 60 hours before the flight departs. Web check-in service closes 60 minutes before departure. If online check-in is not possible, you must arrive at the airport a few hours before the scheduled departure time to get your baggage, and carry-ons checked. Hand and Hold Luggage Allowance

Nordica allows you to carry one bag and 1 personal item, the weight of which should be no more than 8kgs. No matter which class you are travelling to, your handbag should be small enough to fit either the area under your seat or the overhead compartment. The dimensions for the bag should be 55 x 40 x 23 cm. Handicap passengers are allowed to bring a wheelchair, crutches, and other walking assistance on the flight free of charge.

Class of Service, Seats, and Comfort

The airline has three classes — Economy standard, economy flex, and business. You can book business class for additional legroom and enjoy a comfortable journey in spacious seats. Book an adjacent seat for your pet or comfort. Nordica is mainly famous for its short-haul and medium-haul flights. Overall, the seats are comfortable and can accommodate taller people comfortably.

Services Onboard

Meals and beverages are served on flight and they have an extensive menu. You could also pre-book your meals online at the time of check-in. The airline allows pets (small dogs and cats) in the cabin or luggage department, but they must meet the weight criteria of the airline. However, you will be charged an extra fee for carrying pets. Entertainment services are included in each aircraft. Passengers in the economy and business class get to play their favourite music, movies, series, and kid’s content.
