History

The KLM airline is a Dutch airline that was founded in 1919 by Albert Plesman, who was originally an aircraft mechanic. However, the name was changed to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in 1946 and then to KLM in 1970.

Fleet

At the end of 2021, KLM had 218 aeroplanes in its fleet. The vast majority of their planes were manufactured by Boeing, as KLM owns 138 aircraft from this company. According to KLM's passenger transportation statistics, the number increased between 2020 and 2021.

A number of Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft are currently in service around the world. The aircraft will be replaced by the Airbus A320neo family aircraft in the mid-2023 time frame.

There is no difference in the number of bags you can bring on board your plane for your kids if they do not have their own seat. The item you can bring on your lap, if it is 55 x 35 x 25 cm and weighs no more than 12 kg, must have a maximum size and weight.
