Kenya Airways is the national carrier of Kenya and is the first airline in the world to have a public-private partnership as part of its business model. A proud member of the Sky Team Alliance, Kenya Airways flies to more than 51 destinations around the world, including 43 in Africa. 

History

Kenya Airways (KQ) has been operating since 1977 with its central hub at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and is based in Nairobi, Kenya, in Embakasi. As the first African flag carrier to successfully privatise, Kenyan Airlines was owned by the Kenyan Government until April 1995. As of right now, Kenya Airways is a public-private partnership. The World Travel Awards 2015 recognized Kenya Airways Technical as the Leading Airline-Business Class and Embraer Authorised Service Centre.

Destinations

The airline offers flights to more than 60 destinations from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. A few of the top destinations served by the airline are {list_destinations} and many others. Many airlines, including Air France, Etihad Airways, Jet Airways, Aeroflot, and many others, have codeshare agreements with Kenya Airways.

Fleet

 The airline has a modern fleet of 38 aircraft, including Boeing and Embraer aircraft, making it one of the youngest in Africa.

Check-in

30 hours prior to departure, Kenya Airways opens its online check-in. Two hours before departure, it closes again. When checking in online with Kenya Airways, passengers can select a seat as well. If you have an e-ticket, you can check in online, but you can also check in at the airport if you don't have an e-ticket. On international flights, passengers should check in 2 hours and 30 minutes prior to departure, with counters closing one hour before departure.

Hand and Hold Luggage Allowance

There is a limit of 2 items with a total weight of 23 kg for carry-on luggage and one bag with a weight of 23 kilograms of checked luggage for economy class passengers. 

A Premier World passenger is allowed to bring two pieces of carry-on luggage weighing a total of 32 kgs, and two bags weighing a total of 32 kgs to be checked in.

Classes of service and seats

Kenya Airways offers the following classes of service;

Business Class: Travel in style with Kenya Airways' Business Class. Passengers in Business Class are offered extra baggage allowance, priority check-in, and access to VIP lounges. Take advantage of the excellent service and traditional hospitality while relaxing on the lie-flat seats.

Services on Board

On the flight, you will be served good food, but you can also order special meals. It is possible for you to order those according to your religious or medical needs. It is important that you confirm the same at least 24 hours before the departure time of the flight. The food and drinks you can enjoy while flying are of high quality.
