Helvetic Airways Flights

Helvetic Airways

Helvetic Airways is the Swiss airline operating its fleet from its main hub at Zurich airport. The headquarters is located in Kloten. In addition to the domestic flights, Helvetic Airways operate scheduled flights using aircraft from the Embraer family.

History

The airline was formed in 2003 as an extension of the existing Odette Airways. Helvetic airway was launched to extend the network of Swiss airlines across South-Eastern Europe. This Switzerland-based airline company started operation in November 2003. It covered three destinations initially. In the subsequent year, the company owned seven aircraft, and its network expanded to many destinations across Europe. The company announced another hub at Bern Airport in 2010.

Destinations

Although it served three destinations initially, the company added more and more nations to its network. Now, it serves many destinations across the continents of Europe and Africa. Here’s the list of some of the the cities covered {list_destinations}.

Fleet

Helvetic Airways own three aircraft currently from the Embraer family. It operates Embraer 190, Embraer 190-E2, and Embraer 195-E2. Previously, the airline operated Fokker 100 and the Airbus A319-100.

Check-in Procedure

The company offers a web check-in procedure, allowing its passengers to print their boarding passes from the comfort of their homes and book their preferred seats. The procedure starts a few hours before the flight’s scheduled departure. After getting your boarding pass online, you can head directly to the security check at the airport. Or, you can arrive early at the airport to complete check-in at the airport check-in counters.

Hand and Hold Luggage Allowance

Due to the limited space, passengers are allowed to bring only one carry-on per person in the cabin. The weight of the bag must not exceed 5 kgs and its dimensions limit is 55 x 40 x 20 cm. In addition to a carry-on bag, each passenger can bring a personal item — a laptop bag or a briefcase. The size of this personal item and your carry-on should meet the airline’s baggage guidelines. Plus, it must be compact enough to fit the overhead compartment.

Class of Service, Seat, and Comfort

There is economy and business class on each flight. The flights are equipped with comfortable leather seats with a width of 46 cm. The seats are spacious enough to provide you with a comfortable ride. There is also decent legroom for passengers in all classes. If that doesn’t seem enough, you can pay a few extra dollars for additional legroom. Fly in business class for a comfortable journey.

Services On-board

Snacks and meals are available for long-haul flights. The airline allows passengers to bring pets in the cabin, as long as their weight doesn’t exceed 15lbs. The pet carrier will be counted as one carry-on and it must be small enough to fit under your seats. The airline allows you to pre-order your meals for no additional cost at least 72 hours before departure. Helvetic Airways has collaborated with IFE Services for the in-flight entertainment services. Unfortunately, they don’t have Wi-Fi yet. You can bring your books and magazines to the cabin.
