Flybe Flights

Flybe is a British commercial airline, operating since 2021 and serving most cities across the EU and UK. Despite being one of the newly launched airlines in the UK, Flybe is expected to carry a large number of passengers to domestic and international cities every day. The flights are also comfortable, with spacious seats, and various entertainment options. Flybe is a sustainable, affordable, and convenient airline company.

History

Thyme Opco, a company formed by Lucien Farrell to relaunch Flybe airline in 2020, purchased de Havilland Canada Dash 8 Q400 at the end of 2020. It was the first aircraft for Flybe but was transferred to another airline in 2021. The airline got a licence to offer both scheduled and charter services. However, due to an issue with the Transport Secretary, the licence of the company got revoked and the operations ceased. Later that year, the company appointed a new Chief Executive and announced that it’d resume its operations in 2021. They selected Birmingham and Belfast airports for the base. The first aircraft flew between Birmingham and Belfast on 13th April 2022.

Fleet

They have bought de Havilland Canada Dash 8 Q400, which happens to be the only fleet owned and operated by the airline currently.

Check-in Procedure

Flybe offers an online check-in process, which enables its passengers to get their boarding pass printed on their mobile. You can also complete the checkout at the airport, although you may have to arrive 3-4 hours early. Web check-in for Flybe is available on your mobiles. Get your boarding pass and head directly to the security check at the airport.

Hand and Hold Luggage allowance

You are allowed to bring one carry-on bag on the flight, although it should meet the airline’s baggage size standards. The maximum size for handbags allowed in Flybe is 55 x 35 x 20 cm. A personal item, such as a laptop bag or a small briefcase, is allowed. But, the total weight of hand luggage and the personal item must not exceed 10 kgs.

Classes of service and Seats (size, space, comfort)

Flybe offers economy and business classes. The aircraft has comfortable seats and sufficient legroom. You can also order seats with extra legroom for an extra charge. Seat booking is available at the time of check-in. If you complete the check-in online, you might get to choose a seat of your choice.

Services onboard

The airline does not allow you to bring pets into the cabin, although you can transport them in a cargo crate after showing their health and vaccination certificate. You can pre-book your meals when checking-in online and you will also be served meals and snacks on the flight. Entertainment units are available for each passenger. Extra luggage and special meals are available for passengers in business class and those who pay an extra fare for additional services.
