Finnair Flights
Headquartered in Vantaa, Finnair is the largest airline in Finland. Most flights of Finnair operate from its main hub at Helsinki airport. Most of the shares of this airline are owned by the Finland government. The company dominates the aviation industry in Finland — on domestic and international levels. It is a part of the Oneworld Airline Alliance.
History
The airline started as Aero Ltd in 1923. Founded by consul Bruno Lucander, he demanded 50% ownership of the company, and in turn, offered technical support. The operations started in 1924 with Junked F.13 flying between Helsinki and Tallinn. Later, the Finnish government decided to expand its services to the longer routes, covering major European destinations. It declared the ownership of a majority of shares of Finnair. In 1983, the airline became the first company to facilitate non-stop flights between Japan and Western Europe using McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30ER.

Fleet
Most of the Finnair flights are from the airbus family. It includes Airbus A319-100, Airbus A320-200, Airbus A321-200, Airbus A350-900, and an Embraer 190. The company used to own and operate a few aircraft from Boeing and McDonnell Douglas families.
Check-in Procedure
Online check-in starts 36 hours before the flight’s scheduled departure. After completing the check-in online, you can head to the boarding gate directly. For those who are checking in at the airport, you must arrive at least 2 hours before the flight takes off and 3 hours early for those flying to the USA. The self-service check-in kiosks for Finnair flights are available at nearly all major airports. So, you don’t have to wait in long queues for the check-in.
Hand and Hold Luggage Allowance
Economy class passengers can bring one carry-on and one personal item in the cabin. The combined weight should not exceed 8 kgs. Those travelling in business class are allowed to bring two carry-on bags and one personal item. The maximum weight should not exceed 10 kgs combined. Crutches, wheelchairs, and other walking aids are allowed in the cabin. The largest carry bags should go into the overhead storage compartment, and the smaller ones can be placed under your seats.

Finnair offers economy, business, and premium economy classes. If you are booking a long-haul flight, choose premium economy for ultimate comfort. The seats are super comfortable, spacious, and have extra legroom in business class.

Finnair has Nordic Sky Portal that allows you to stream your favourite movies, listen to unlimited songs, and stream kid’s content on your mobiles and tablets. You can bring a small pet in the cabin given that its weight doesn’t exceed 8 kgs. For short-haul flights, you can pre-order your meals while checking in.
