History

Emirates was established on October 24, 1985, with services between Dubai and Karachi by a government-owned company with less than US$1 million in the capital. It began operations with one Boeing 737-200 aircraft and destinations to Karachi and Lahore in Pakistan.

Today Emirates has grown into one of the world's leading airlines and has won more than 200 awards since its inception in 1985. It strives to provide an exceptional travel experience through quality service, comfort, and convenience at competitive prices.

Emirates is the world's largest international carrier, serving 130 destinations in more than 80 countries across six continents including, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, and Americas. Fleet

Emirates operates 254 aeroplanes for passengers and 10 cargo aircraft through Emirates SkyCargo as of January 2022. With an A380 and two Boeing 777s in both its fleet, Emirates operates the largest fleet of both types of aircraft in the world, as well as one A319 as an executive jet. It is also in the process of placing orders for the Airbus A350-900, Boeing 777X, and Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
