easyJet Flights

easyJet

EasyJet is the UK's largest low-cost airline. It operates all over Europe, with its headquarters at London Luton Airport. EasyJet provides scheduled flights on over 1000 routes in more than 30 countries through its affiliate airlines: EasyJet UK, EasyJet Switzerland, and EasyJet Europe. EasyJet has grown through a combination of acquisitions and base openings in recent years, fueled by consumer demand for low-cost air travel. The company, along with its associates EasyJet UK and EasyJet Europe, operates more than 300 aircraft.

History

EasyJet, the UK's second-largest airline, was founded in 1995 by Stelios Haji-Ioannou, who was 23 years old. The airline began operations with one Airbus A320 aircraft, flying between London Luton Airport and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. In 1996 EasyJet expanded its fleet to three aircraft and began operating flights from London Luton to Glasgow and Edinburgh. By 1999, EasyJet operated a fleet of 18 Airbus A319s and A320s, flying more than 500 flights per week and carrying more than 1 million passengers each year.

In 2000 EasyJet launched flights from Bristol and Belfast to Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, and Nice. By 2001 EasyJet had flown more than 7 million passengers and carried over 25 million bags by air within Europe since its launch in 1995. By 2003 easyJet had become Europe's fastest-growing airline as it increased its fleet from 20 aircraft to 47 aircraft within just three years.

Destinations

EasyJet flies to more European destinations than any other airline and offers flights to over 200 destinations worldwide.

Fleet

EasyJet's fleet consists of Airbus A319s, Airbus A320s, Airbus A321s, and Boeing 737s. These can be configured with either 2 or 3 classes (Premium, EasyJet Plus, and Economy). Depending on the class of travel, passengers get different amenities like extra legroom or free baggage allowance.

Check-in

EasyJet check-in is your first step to boarding your flight with the airline. You can check-in online, over the phone, or at one of the self-service kiosks at the airport. EasyJet check-in opens 24 hours before your flight departs. You'll get an email confirmation when you've successfully checked in for your flight, including a reference number and barcode to print out or show on your phone. This is proof that you're on board.

Hand and hold luggage

The EasyJet hand and hold luggage size is 45cm x 36cm x 20cm. You can bring a maximum of two bags on board, but they must be smaller than 45cm x 36cm x 20cm. Under the new rules, passengers are allowed one piece of cabin baggage plus a small personal item - such as a handbag, laptop bag, or small backpack. The weight limit is 10kg per person, while dimensions must not exceed 45cm in length, 36cm in width, and 20cm in depth.

Services onboard

EasyJet positions as a middle cost airline rather than a low cost. However, the range of services onboard is not wider than what competition offers. In the seat pocket you will find the meal magazine which includes a variety of food and beverages available for purchase during the flight. Inflight shopping is available as well and you can check the items in the Boutique magazine.
