Blue Air Flights

Blue Air is a Romanian low-cost airline based at Henri Coandă International Airport in Bucharest. . It was founded in 2004 and has grown to become one of the largest airlines operating in Romania. The airline operates scheduled services to domestic and international destinations from its hub at Henri Coandă International Airport and charter flights for tour operators during the summer season. In addition to its flights, the company also manages and operates charter flights on behalf of other airlines.

History

Founded by Nelu Iordache, Blue Air started operating in December 2004. The airline initially operated both domestically and internationally but discontinued domestic services due to low sales and competition from other airlines and Romanian Railways. In 2015, the company reported EUR 6 million profit while they had made a 400000 loss the year before.

Fleet

Currently, BlueAir fleet includes  Boeing 737 aircraft series 737-300, 737-500, and 737-800 with a capacity between 120 and 189 seats. Blue Air’s fleet was retrofitted with a more comfortable, better-designed seat - Recaro. Passengers can now experience one of the lightest classes of seats, designed for relaxation, with reclining backrests.

Check-in Flights Blue Air

Passengers can use the Blue Air check-in service to skip check-in at the airport. All you need is your boarding pass and travel documents, which must be presented together. Since 2020 BlueAir introduced a fee for airport check-in for travellers flying with just a small hand luggage. Travellers holding tickets including checked luggage can check-in free of charge at the airport. 

Hand and hold luggage

Valuable objects or electronic devices (camera, laptop, tablet, etc.) should be transported in the cabin bag. If you arrive at the gate with a bag that exceeds the allowed weight or size, it will have to be placed in the hold and it is subject to an extra fee. Locker space can often be limited on busy flights, so they may have to transport your bags in cargo holds if they don't fit into lockers. Luggage on hold can not exceed 23kg per unit.

The food served on board is based on Romanian traditional food recipes and it's prepared by chefs from the best restaurants in Bucharest. You may place a meal order at least 24h prior to departure and an extra fee will apply. Meal orders are accepted just for a selection of flights. Flying BlueAir you can take your pet on your trips. Service is subject to availability and extra cost.
