Air Transat

The third-largest airline in Canada, Air Transat Flights operates charter flights as well as scheduled flights. In addition to Air Transat's main base in Montreal, Quebec, the airline has bases at Toronto Pearson International Airport, Vancouver International Airport, and Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. 

History

Former Quebecair employees founded Air Transat Flights in 1986. On November 18th, 1987, the airline flew from Montreal to Acapulco on its maiden voyage. The company also acquired Nationair's maintenance base and other aircraft six years later. After Air Canada and WestJet, Air Transat is Canada's third-largest airline. From Cancun to Vancouver, Air Transat flight number TS 163 was operated with their first-ever female flight crew on 13th February 2011. The company announced a joint venture with CanJet on the 13th of February 2009.

Destinations

There are more than 60 destinations served by Air Transat in Europe, Central America, the USA, the Caribbean, and Mexico, including {list_destinations}. In the summer, the airline offers many flights to European destinations, while over the winter, they fly primarily to the Caribbean, the US, and South America.

Fleet

With a fleet size of around 22 aircraft, the airline operates solely Airbus aircraft. Air Transat's Boeing 737-800, is still registered by Transport Canada but not listed on the official website

Check-in Procedure

For most Air Transat flights, online check-in opens 24 to 2 hours before departure. For some destinations, as well as passengers departing from Port-au-Prince in Haiti, those under 18 years of age travelling alone, and passengers on codeshare flights, online check-in is not available.

Hand and Hold Luggage Allowance

Depending on the passenger class of travel and the destination of the flight, the cabin baggage allowance on Air Transat flights varies, but in general, the maximum dimensions are 23cm x 40cm x 51cm (including wheels and handles). It is important to note that Economy Class and Option Plus travellers are allowed to travel with a maximum weight of 10kg, while Business Class passengers are permitted to travel with a maximum weight of 15kg

Air Transat offers Economy Class and Club Class services.

The Economy Class of Air Transat offers luxury and comfort at no sacrifice. During the flight, passengers are provided with snacks, alcoholic beverages, a comfort kit, and earbuds.

Services on Board 

On Air Transat flights, passengers can purchase snacks and hot/cold beverages on the buy-on-board menu. If you would like to know more about the options available for special meals, you can contact the airline directly 24 hours prior to departure. Passengers with special needs are provided with assistance by Air Transat. On-ground staff provides wheelchairs and assistance during check-in. Depending on their needs, passengers can choose from a variety of services.
