Air Europa

Air Europa is the third-largest Spanish airline, having its headquarters in Mallorca, Spain. The flights operate from its hub at Adolfo Suarez Madrid Airport. The airline was declared a member of Skyteam Alliance in 2007.

History

The airline began operations in 1986 when Spanish Banks owned 75% shares of the company. In the initial period of operation, the company used Boeing 737-300s and Boeing 757s for flying holiday flights across different destinations in Europe. It also started scheduled flights and was, in fact, the first Spanish airline to start a national scheduled flight service. In 2019, the airline got permission to start domestic flights.

Air Europa operates scheduled, charter, domestic, and international flights. Its destinations cover the cities across northern and Western Europe, although the airline also operates long-hauled flights in South America, North America, Morocco, the Caribbean, and Europe from Madrid airport. Fleet

Air Europea owns and operates fleets from the Boeing family currently. It includes Boeing 737 MAX 8, Boeing 787-8, Boeing 737-800, and Boeing 787-9. Previously, the company owned a couple of airbuses, in addition to Embraer and Boeing.

Check-in

You need to check in for your flight either online or at the check-in counters at the airport. Arrive 2-3 hours early at the airport to collect your boarding pass. Or, you can check in online to get your boarding pass on your mobile. This will save you the hassle of arriving at the airport early. Online check-in starts a few hours before the scheduled departure, so make sure you book your seats early.

Hand and Hold Luggage Allowance

You are allowed to bring one cabin suitcase, which should be compact enough to fit into the overhead storage compartment or area under your seats. The security will check your hand luggage at the boarding gate to ensure it fits the size guidelines. The maximum weight limit for carry-on bags is 10 kgs for economy class and 14 kgs for business class. You could also carry a personal item. Its dimensions must not exceed 20cm x 35cm x 30cm.

Air Europa offers economy and business class. Fly in business class for the most comfortable flight experience. The seat pitch for this airline varies depending on the aircraft. Boeings have a seat pitch of 31” and the width is 17”. You can get extra legroom and more spacious seats for extra fare. The seats also recline fully, turning into a flatbed.

Onboard Services

Air Europa flights serve snacks, drinks, and meals. They have free Wi-Fi to keep you connected with the world. They also have a TV installed on the back of each seat. You can watch movies, series, and documentaries. You can also bring pets in the cabin, given that their size doesn’t exceed 8 kgs. You can book an additional seat for your pet or put the pet container under your seat. The airline allows pigs, dogs, cats, birds, turtles, and other small pets.
