The flag carrier of Canada and the largest airline in terms of passengers carried and fleet size is Air Canada flights, headquartered in Montreal. According to the 2018 Skytrax World Airline Awards, the airline is the Best Airline in North America.

History

Trans Canada Airlines began operations with the launch of Air Canada's domestic services. Passenger flights took off for the first time in 1837. Two years later, in 1939, transcontinental routes and flights were launched. Between those years, Air Canada history was known for transporting mail to Seattle and numbered passengers. Between then and now, it has developed a strong base, attendants, and alliances with other airlines. In 1964, an airline named Trans Canada Airlines (TCA) changed its name to Air Canada and became a private company that ran the flights for the Canadian government.

On average, Air Canada allows 23 kilograms of weight per passenger. The maximum size is also 152 centimetres. Those who exceed the specified measurements and weight will be fined and have to pay additional charges. The cabin bag must not weigh more than 10 kg (22 pounds) and measure more than 23 x 40 x 55 cm (9 x 15.5 x 21.5 inches), plus one personal item with maximum dimensions of 16 x 33 x 43 cm (6 x 13 x 17 inches).
