Air Baltic carries the flag of Latvia. Its headquarters is located at the Riga International Airport in Riga, with its main base in the same town. The airline was formed with the goal of providing a safe and comfortable ride experience to people across the Baltic states. The company focuses on making the airline sustainable, convenient, and affordable for passengers.

History

Air Baltic was established in 1995, with a majority of the shares being held by the Latvian State. Earlier, it was formed as a partnership between the Latvian state and Scandinavian Airlines. They made the first aircraft purchase, Saab 340, in the same year, and the operation started in October 1995. They started cargo flights two years later. Starting as Baltic International Airlines, the company got renamed “AirBaltic” in 2004. Since then, it has been carrying a large number of passengers from Riga and other hubs to European cities.

Destinations

The airline offers short-haul flights from Riga to different metropolitan cities in Europe and other continents. Currently, it covers cities in Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East, and the CIS including {list_destinations}.

Fleet

Air Baltic currently owns and operates a single aircraft from the Airbus A220-300 family, although its historical fleets include Boeing 737-500, Boeing 737-300, Saab 340, Foker 50, etc. It is expected to add more fleets in the coming years.

Check-in

You can check in for Air Baltic flights online a few hours before the flight departs. Get your boarding pass on your mobile and head straight to the security check at the airport. Hand and Hold Luggage Allowance

The baggage allowance for the cabin varies depending on which class you are travelling. Economy class passengers are allowed to bring one carry-on and one personal item, the total of which shouldn’t exceed 8kgs combined. You can upgrade the weight limit to 12kgs for an additional fee.
