Air Albania Flights

Air Albania

Air Albania carries the flag of Albania and is owned by three entities — Turkish Airlines, Alb Control, and MDN Investment. The headquarters of Air Albania is located at Tirana International Airport. Despite being new to the airline industry, Air Albania has gained immense popularity among travellers in Europe. The collaboration between the Turkish and Albanian governments led to the innovation of Air Albania, which offers scheduled air services for European passengers.

History

Before Air Albania started, Albanian Airlines carried the flag of Albania. The authorities, however, revoked the licence of this airline on 11th November 2011. Edi Rama, the prime minister of the nation, announced that Albania’s airline was planning to partner with Turkish airlines. The authorities released a press release regarding the launch of the new airline and announced its name in 2017. The airline is formed in a public-private partnership. It received the Third Country Operator certificate in 2020. The first flight of this airline flew from Tirana to Istanbul in 2019.
